Happy Thanksgiving!
Today, I am most thankful for my family and friends. I feel very lucky to have an amazing family and wonderful group of friends that support me and my work. I don't know where I would be without them.

Jella
I shot Jella today and it was a very fun, successful shoot! Jella is a recently signed model. She was amazing to work with, took direction really well and moved with a lot of grace and ease. I can't wait to see where her modeling takes her. A few more adjustments and these images will be up on my website soon!
Thank you for reading!

Prepping
I am prepping for a shoot I have on Sunday. I have found an awesome location, pulling clothes, and figuring out what formats I will be shooting. I have a stack of 4x5 film that is begging to be shot.

How to Breathe Underwater
A friend of mine recently lent me her copy of Julie Orringer's book "How to Breathe Underwater." It is a collection of short stories and the protagonists are all young women. Each story is layered with subtle detail and intimacy. I had a hard time deciding which story was my favorite.

Oldie but Goodie
I was going through my archives yesterday and came across this image. I had it up on my site a few years ago, but decided to take it down. I was focused on creating a cohesive body of fashion- bent portraiture and felt this image didn't quite fit with the other work. Since then my work has expanded and I feel its time to bring this image back in to the mix. Visit my site to see it and my other work!
Marcio Simnch
How amazing are these two photos? I am addicted to Feaverish Photography. Everyday Aaron Feaverish posts images from a different photographer. Aaron has great taste and it is so enjoyable to see who he chooses each day. On Saturday his post was Marcio Simnch. Marcio photographed the two above images. I love the moody, quiet quality of his work. His images are simply composed, yet contain so much raw energy. Kudos to his cool website as well! Definitely check out his site and Aaron's post.

Kris Graves Projects
I have mentioned Kris Graves before. He and his cousin have opened up a gallery in Brooklyn. It is such an amazing space! Kris and his team have such an appreciation for good, solid photography. I was so happy to have the opportunity to visit the gallery and see the latest show. Kris' enthusiasm for his artists and for photography itself is infectious. Visit his website!
NYC
My first trip out to New York was incredible!! I had five meetings this week. I received tons of positive feedback regarding my work and great suggestions as to how it can be improved. I am so grateful to the photo editors who took the time out of their busy schedules to meet with me. Meeting with them gave me so many ideas for future shoots.
As for New York itself, I am completely enamored. What an incredibly vibrant city! I walked across the Brooklyn Bridge Wednesday morning and just felt so inspired and invigorated by the site of Manhattan.
I hope to be back out there soon!
